National Special Education Day
Tuesday, December 2nd is National Special Education Day! This day commemorates the anniversary of our nation’s first federal special education law, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), signed by President Ford on December 2, 1975. DPS’ parent community will be showing our appreciation at each school throughout the District. At MMS, the MPA will be providing light breakfast/lunch treats, notes of gratitude and gift cards for the Special Education and Student Services (SESS) staff.
For December 2, please consider sending a card or email to thank your child's teachers and SESS staff, including counselors, speech therapists, reading specialists - anyone who provides your student with services.
Please reach out to Lindsey DeVito with any questions. Let's celebrate all our amazing MMS teachers and SESS Staff!
